CPR Anytime Program
One person dies from cardiac arrest every minute in the U.S. and more than 80% of cardiac arrests occur in the home. In order to increase the survival rate, more people in the community need to understand how to perform CPR. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) can help maintain the flow of oxygen to the brain and vital organs until help arrives. Properly performed CPR can double or triple the survival rate. So it has become our goal to train as many community members as possible. All ages are welcome. This class is FREE and is for people who otherwise might not be trained in CPR.

Using the American Heart Association Family and Friends CPR Anytime® program as our foundation, Heart Safe La Plata is offering a personal CPR training program for groups including youth groups, schools, parent-teacher organizations, churches, workplace wellness groups, lunch-and-learn, and civic groups.

This is not your typical CPR class. Using a 22-minute video to do the instructing, the class focuses on the core skills of CPR. Most of the video is hands-on practice on your own personal manikin. More information about the CPR Anytime program can be obtained at http://www.cpranytime.org

Barbara Lawson has agreed to serve as our coordinator. Anyone interested in hosting a CPR Anytime class, please contact Barbara at 884.2406 and leave a message.

Interested but you cannot attend one of our group classes...You can purchase your own CPR Anytime kit at http://www.cpranytime.org. If you do, please let us know how many people were trained with your CPR Anytime kit.
